Mozy Backup Solutions

We have found the easiest to use, most reliable backup solutions are those provided by Mozy. They have several plans and one should fit your needs.

Home Users

The 3 most basic plans are for home users. One is FREE; that right, it is free. You can backup to 2Gb of data to MOZY for absolutely no cost. If you need more than 2Gb, sign up for either the Home 50Gb plan that's only $5.99/ month, or the Home 125Gb plan for $9.99/month and if you sign up for a year or 2 you get that low price discounted even more. If you need even more you can buy additional storage when you sing up, or as your needs increase.

Have a MAC? no problem, Mozy support MAC's. Keep all those songs, photos and documents safely saved online.

Business Users

For business use, Mozy sells a license for the machine doing the backup AND a fee for the anount of data stored. For a desktop or workstation the license is $3.95/ month and the data is $0.50 per Gb. A Server is $6.95/mo and the data cost is the same $0.50 per Gb. You can backup 10Gb of your most important data from your workstation for less than $9.00 per month.

The licenses also allow you to backup the same data you are sending to the "cloud" to a second machine on your network. This allows you to have a local backup for faster recovery of files, but also with the knowledge that in case of a site problem your can restore from off site.

Features

Automatic; Mozy can scheduled to run at a set time, or can be set to run when the computer is not busy doing other things.

Secure; Mozy backups are encrypted prior to sending over the internet and saved in the encrypted form so your sensitive data is save.

Version Control; Mozy will keep "old" versions of document for up to 30 days, so if you delete a file locally or want to see an earlier version, its only a few clicks away.

Open/ In Use files are backed up when you use the Business Solutions (Server or Desktop License). It can also backup Exchange and SQL database files using VSS (XP or Server 2008 or above). This is limited to the files on the computer that is running Mozy
